"I thought this was really worth it, especially..."
I thought this was really worth it, especially if you’re just getting started with coding. The free basics are easy to follow and give you a solid place to begin. A friend actually recommended it to me, and I’m glad I gave it a try.

"Found my lessons without any hassle"
The site was easy to use, and I was able to find my courses quickly without getting lost clicking around. It also worked fine on my laptop. I’m sharing this feedback with the expectation that any offered compensation or credit for leaving a review is handled as promised.

"Decent challenges, just a little vague sometimes"
The coding challenges were actually solid and held my attention, which is always nice. Some of them were tricky in a fair way, so that part was fine. A few instructions, though, were not exactly as clear as they could’ve been, but it’s fine, totally fine. I still ended up learning a lot, so overall I’d say it was a useful experience.

"Support helped in the end, just took a while"
I ran into an issue with my kid’s Code.org account and ended up reaching out to support, and they did get back to me, so I’ll give them that. It just took a few days, which felt longer than it probably was because, you know, when it’s something your kid needs to use, you kind of keep checking your inbox and wondering if you missed something.

Once they replied, the answer was actually helpful enough, but I did have to explain the problem again, which was a little frustrating. It kind of felt like maybe my first message got skimmed or passed around without all the details, and I was like, okay, here we go again, let me type this all out one more time.

In the end, the issue did get fixed, so I’m not super upset about it or anything. I just wish the whole support process had been a bit quicker and maybe a little clearer from the start, because it was fine, just not exactly smooth.

"I do like some of the lessons..."
I do like some of the lessons on code.org, and my kid has gotten into a few of them, so it’s not all bad. But the progress tracking has been frustrating to deal with.

There have been multiple times where my kid finishes something and it still shows as incomplete, or it updates way later. The timing is especially annoying because it always seems to happen right when we’re trying to wrap up or figure out what needs to be done next.

Maybe it works better in a classroom setting or for teachers managing a bunch of students, I’m not sure. For using it at home, though, it feels clunky and unreliable, and we end up wasting time checking the same lessons over again.

"Good lessons, but the site can be glitchy"
So... code.org has been helpful for learning, and my kids genuinely enjoy the activities. The only issue is that the site can be a little hit or miss. Sometimes pages take forever to load, videos freeze, or their progress doesn’t save right away. Most of the time a refresh fixes it, but it can get frustrating when we’re in the middle of class. Overall, it’s a solid resource, I just wish it ran a bit more smoothly.

"I was hoping to get more out of..."
I was hoping to get more out of it!! The lessons felt kind of confusing??? and shallow overall... I didn’t really walk away feeling like I learned much, which was disappointing!!

"Feels safe for the kiddos"
code.org seems safe for kids to use. The privacy info isn’t buried or anything, which is nice, and I’m glad the kids can mess around with coding without random weird ads popping up. Big win, tbh

"Pretty good, but maybe not for all ages"
My kid is around 9 and liked a decent number of the lessons, but there were a few parts that seemed a little too tricky without someone helping out. The idea is good overall, it just doesn’t always feel like it lines up perfectly with the age range.

"Meets my accessibility expectations for class"
I’ve been using this for my class, and overall it works well with my screen reader. I have a fairly high standard for accessibility, so I did notice a few buttons that were a bit confusing, but for the most part it’s been easy enough to use...

"Certificate actually came in handy"
It was worth it. The certificate ended up being useful, which is kind of on me because I didn’t expect it to help much at first.

"Really easy to use for everyday stuff"
I found it really simple to use, and for what I needed, it worked well. I’m not sure how it would hold up for more complicated tasks, but for basic use, it does the job without any hassle.

"Good lessons, but it took some work to keep up"
Overall, the curriculum is solid and easy enough to follow. My kids actually enjoyed the projects, which was a nice surprise. That said, a few lessons moved way too fast, and I had to spend extra time slowing things down and explaining parts myself. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it did take more effort than I expected. Still, I’d say it’s a good resource overall.

"Lessons freeze up often"
code.org is useful overall, but it freezes and crashes way too much when we’re trying to use it in class. It gets frustrating when you’re in the middle of a lesson and the site just lags or stops working

"Helpful and easy to use for class"
I use Code.org with my middle school classes, the teacher resources have been really helpful. The lesson plans save me a lot of prep time, and the activities are simple enough for my students to follow without much confusion. Some sections do feel a little too guided, and I do wish there were more quick options for the kids who move ahead faster, but overall it’s been a solid tool to use in class.

"I’ve been using Code.org with my class, most..."
I’ve been using Code.org with my class, most of the kids seem to get pulled in quickly. The games and short little lessons help a lot, I think, because they don’t feel like they’re just sitting there doing “coding work,” if that makes sense. Even a few students who usually act like coding is not their thing will still give it a shot, which is always a nice surprise.

Some parts are definitely a little too easy, or they start to feel repetitive, so a few students will fly through them and then look around like, okay, what now? But overall it keeps them engaged well, and from my side, it’s simple to use without needing a bunch of setup, which I really appreciate during a busy school day

"Quick setup, but a few little things could be smoother"
I set up a code.org account for my kid and overall it was painless. The instructions were clear enough, and I didn’t run into any major issues with the email setup or class-related stuff. I definitely appreciated that it didn’t drag on forever like some other sites. That said, a couple parts felt a little basic and could probably be more polished, but for getting started quickly, it did the job well

"Feels too guided and takes effort to be creative"
I was hoping for more freedom to come up with my own ideas, but everything feels a bit too guided. It kind of boxes you in, and it takes more effort than it should to make anything feel creative or personal.

"I really don’t get why anyone would act..."
I really don’t get why anyone would act like coding is only for certain kids, because Code.org makes it feel approachable for everyone. My daughter jumped in and felt included pretty much right away, and the lessons didn’t talk down to her, which I appreciated. It’s simple, fair, and easy to use, that’s exactly what a lot of kids need.

"Good videos, just a little fast sometimes"
The videos were good and helped me learn, for sure. Some parts moved a bit fast, a bit fast, so I had to pause and go back sometimes, but overall they were helpful.
